From the way I see it, people that don't read entire threads at all will either reply to the last couple of posts or only the topic. People that read all posts tend to reply to specific comments and (usually) the topic too.

What I'm wondering though, why does posting behavior matter to you? Do you plan on showing only parts of a thread?
