As far as I understand it is different from the Voxel sculpting in 3d coat. And it makes sense. You can freely move the voxels in 3d-coat and maybe you can do it also in ZBrush, but the video showed something more artistic:
You build your skeleton from spheres like you do in the real world with some steel wire. And then you add a layer of flesh, muscles and skin with the help of this sphere. It is still attached to the wire and thus follows the skeleton. This way you can work more accurately and more similar like you do in real life if you add clay to your armature.
It could result in a better workflow and better anatomy in the end. It will be the more professional tool then.
But we will see when it is done. I have a license of ZBrush and as far as I understood I will get this upgrade for free.
Nevertheless I also watch the development of 3d coat with interest. It grows fast and is a really good tool. Some beginners even like it more than ZBrush. It depends on the kind of interface they prefer.
