I suppose the cylinder won't be animated later. That means its curves remain as they are. The bending of the cylinder is not equally strong at each part, it is less strong at the side of the head, and it is stronger at the 'edge' between front and side. For strong bending you need some segments close to each other. For a weak bending you need only few segments that are quite apart from each other.

@Pappenheimer: Ok, I think i get what you are saying now, and I am going to focus on making the tubes look good when i make them again because the camera will be located close the the shoulder (I think).

@Cowabanga: I use Carrarra 5 Pro to model, and sometimes do some touch ups in med.

in the perfect world, that would be pretty much possible, but the world is not perfect.

Metasequoia's poly reducer is pretty good tho.

Is it possible to make the tubes look like the pic i posted above using shaders instead of using faces to make the segments? Any help would be awesome on this laugh
