They aren't lying about other engines and saying theres is better, they just pay for something for you to use for free, and in return (what they get for shelling out THEIR HARD EARNED CASH FOR YOU) is to have thier engine come up first. I don't consider that too bad of a trade.

but they are, not telling the entire truth to unspecting shoppers(as dumb as they may be)is baiting them on, they can get benefits through advertising and not list their biased views about their product there...personnaly I would be ashamed of myself....and it is clear some frontal lobe development in your brain needs to occur....I'm getting too irritated with this subject, I can no longer post in this thread.

As if devmaster is all and only about the ranking. It's a great resource to find the engine that fits best for your project. Or just for information about a lot of engines.

That's not the point Joozey. The point is that by doing this, GarageGames is not following ethical behavior and acting as a morally responsible company. If I were GarageGames, I would use a proactive strategy and distance myself from this potential negative publicity disaster immediately. They are not a large company right now, which is why nobody has gone after them about it. But, if they get big in the future, and that's a big if, and still own this website, it will most definitely result in a negative publicity disaster.

You made that point for yourself, that's not my point. You put way too much weight on GarageGame's "unethical" behaviour. There are far worse unethical things happening around you that seem GarageGames' like fluffy bunnies on a grassy hill.

What are they giving for free? They _own_ the site, means, the mere purpose of the site is _advertising_ their engine while it establishes the impression to be an _independent_ source of information.
The problem is the claim of being unbiased and in fact being not at all.

There's no question that you can see such things all around in the world. Sure.

The difference is that Caitlyn was struck by that, because she thought first the site is actually unbiased, means she felt that she was cheated. And, you, now already informed of the facts behind everything, do not feel any harm.

And, for sure, somebody related to a competitor feels more being cheated, at least when he or she thinks that the own product is worth a lot more than the rating suggests...
