not sure where to put this thread, so here goes:

how would you go about creating IK for use on a characters legs or arms and other effects? the method in my mind is to use the physics engine and with the right limits and such, it should work, however, am not particular fond of the idea because 3sgs physics engine behave erratically at times? is there another way to do this?

IK : inverse kinematics
for the implementation of IK in GS, i remember someone had an example but i dont remember who he was and how was it done either.

oh.. well, i hope i can find it, if you do let me know, also, it seems unity 3d uses their physics engine to accomplish this, i know i could do this with the ode physics but that would just add alot more strain to the cpu in addition to the instability of gs's physics engine so i'm looking an alternative method...

Are you wanting to first rig characters with Ik and then have the physics engine effect the movements of the players? Im not clear on what your wanting to do. GS out.

well not necessarily a physics engine but even if that was the case, sure... most games have it now where a characters legs get repositioned based on what he's standing on...

maybe you can accomplish this with bones.
you could check, if a bodypart is in a block and then you could move up the bone.
