For sure the lite-c isn't too complex. If you compare 3D Gamestudio with other engines, well, it is not realtime (like one engine LordMoggy(?) posted before). Yes it was an AAA engine. There are still some bugs, that's why people think it isn't a good engine, but "WHY?" - Do it yourself if you think it's bad (and if you think you can do it better!)! I don't know other hobby engines. The prices are good, too, compare what you have to pay for a AAA engine - so you can't compare . Another thing: It's only for the Computer, no Wii|PS3|PSP or XBox360 support - This could be improved . The manual is great - you can learn many things from it. Yeah, there aren't many tut's, but are there many tut's for other engines.

I am older then 2001, I have a full time job, I have family, I have friends and fellows but I never would give up my passion to make shit like zombie games, porno games or to draw stupid comics. True for you, not true for many others. Some of us found a new passion leaving less time for the old hobby. Some got a job as programmer, and guess what - the motivation to come home after a day full of programming and do even more programming is... kinda... small... That's the main point for me, the second point is my lack of motivation because I keep failing with what I want to create for several reasons, me being the biggest one. The engine itself is not the problem, neither are the competitor products. I don't feel too limited with this engine and I can do almost everything I need with it - but I'm into this hobby since 1994, staying with 3dgs since 1997. I tried to get a job and failed. I tried to win a stipendium and failed. I tried to win contests and failed (after 2000 at least). After that time it really kills away motivation. I need some "wow, that worked", but I always get "wow, that failed again".

The thing keeping me back is trying to make cash to afford an apartment so that I can work on my projects, and every time i get caught up, i don't have motivation for my old project anymore. So I start a new one. I'm trying not to do that with fish food, but it's already showing as my second level that I've been working on, there is a dramatic drop in quality... and thats saying something seeing as the first level already sucked (not the one the community saw, well... it is the one the community saw, but it wasn't finished then)

Another thing: It's only for the Computer, no Wii|PS3|PSP or XBox360 support - This could be improved 'improved' Oo Also the akcnex engine it self should move to anew skin, new organization. etc.. its getting there with GED BUT.. THERE is still much more to do.
I really think it is good the way it is since you have to script most stuff yourself and this gives a lot more freedom than in unity for example were it is not that easy to customize movement (or whatever).

-> the included (installation) examples, models and demonstrations are lacking a lot of potential to make the engine more appealing. There could be muxh more eyecandy and usefull startup ressources. Best example is the "standard.wad", a collection of 1996 style textures in terrible quality.
Well, why don't we make some better examples for code or modeling? Conictec should make more functions or engine improvements - that's more important for us.

"it´s better to burn out then to fade away". Still can´t rember who said this. But there is something true about it. Only place I have heard that is from "Highlander" The .. Kurgen? said it. He was the bad guy anyway. He said it in the church before he left.
