Okay ...Please I'm despate and fed up what the people new to shaders not receiving any help whatsoever (many don't even get a reply).

To quote Red Ocktober..."arrogant lil snot..."

OK - here is what you need to do...

1) Grab a phone book.

2) Look for the nearest Book Store.

3) Head on over and pick up a copy of ShaderX.

4) Read that through a few times.

5) Become a shader guru.

Seriously - that is the best way to get into them. Barring that, go to the Wiki (link at the bottom of the page). Look in the shader section and see the links to various shader resources. Read all of that and then download one of the free shader builders and play with them for a few days (weeks...year+). Once you get a handle on that, you can start to figure out how to move from "standard" DirectX shaders to 3DGS's implementation of them.

On these forums, you will not find many shader experts. You will find a lot of people who have toyed with them for a few months. You will also find a lot of people who have gotten good at cutting up shaders from Rendermonkey and getting them to work with 3DGS...but there are only a small handful (my guess would be 5 or 6) who are comfortable enough with shaders to write them from scratch.

BTW - Shaders (DirectX 8.1 type) are written using assembly - so you might want to brush up on that as well.

Also - as we have to remind all newbies...wait a few days before you get pissed because nobody answered your question.
