You should really write your own scripts for this. I know from experience that trying to overhaul the template scripts is a very, very ambitious task, especially when you don't have the docs. The template scripts are great for showing you what Gamestudio can do, and are nice for building click-together-projects, but not much else. I personally never use them in projects of my own any more, because I understand my own code a lot better.

If I were you, I'd start writing small projects, picking techniques up as I go. My first "all programmed" project was a mini FPS, nothing special, nothing really "cool", nothing revolutionary. I read the official script tutorial, examined other people's scripts, and played with the system very often. You'd be surprised that just doing something like this can give you amazing insight on how the scripting process works.

Other people usually won't help you with something like this if you have nothing to offer them. The person you'll really have to depend upon the most is you. Your game will not become a reality unless you know how to pick up the pieces and put it all together yourself. Once you have something to show, then you can either build a team, join someone else's team, or just stay solo and do it all for fun.

I'm not trying to turn you off from this. I have no doubt that if you tried, you could learn how to program games and have fun doing it. I'm just trying to explain to you that there is a lot more to game design/programming than meets the eye, and you have to have a lot of determination and drive in order to figure out HOW to do it, and then actually DO it. So if you're patient and you stick with the program, then I'm sure that you'll learn how to script quite well, and that's when you should try creating a game like this. wink
