Well grolflundren, I'll be honest. I'm not much of a game designer, really. I'm not going to sell or publish this game, it's just something that started out as an experiment to see if I could make a playable quake-like multiplayer shooter. So yeah, I guess it's never going to be revolutionary. But I'm still glad you pointed this out: this game won't bring any attention without any interesting features. So here's an idea:
Maybe it would be good to include a simple, grid-based, user-accessible level editor. The levels could then be made out of platforms, pillars, walls, and objects suspended in a dark, purple, nebulaic space (kind of like Quake 3). If I gave the game a more cartoon look with neon lights, how would that help the game stand out?
I thought about making a game like that, but thought I should try making a working multiplayer game first. But now that I've got one up and running, I'm beginning to think this is possible.
BTW, if this is a lame idea, don't bash me. I'm just brainstorming.
