Wow, totally uninspired shooter. You could spend years polishing this, and it will still be boring.
Please introduce at least 1 unique thing about this game. Online multiplayer and weapons are not a feat anymore. constructive criticism only, those are the rules for showcase/projects back on topic: besides the obvious graphical lacking, the backbone of the game seems pretty solid, with some nicer textures and some nice lightening this could actually be a fun game to play. Rock on!

Thanks for the nice comment, Michael. Yep, graphics are definitely something that need to be improved.
Well grolflundren, I'll be honest. I'm not much of a game designer, really. I'm not going to sell or publish this game, it's just something that started out as an experiment to see if I could make a playable quake-like multiplayer shooter. So yeah, I guess it's never going to be revolutionary. But I'm still glad you pointed this out: this game won't bring any attention without any interesting features. So here's an idea:
Maybe it would be good to include a simple, grid-based, user-accessible level editor. The levels could then be made out of platforms, pillars, walls, and objects suspended in a dark, purple, nebulaic space (kind of like Quake 3). If I gave the game a more cartoon look with neon lights, how would that help the game stand out?
I thought about making a game like that, but thought I should try making a working multiplayer game first. But now that I've got one up and running, I'm beginning to think this is possible.
BTW, if this is a lame idea, don't bash me. I'm just brainstorming.

Yes, cartoon style is usually pretty easy to work with, and actually a style I was thinking about using since the beginning of this project... Ahh, a surge of inspiration overwhelms me! Maybe I'll work on it over the weekend.

You could do it TRON style, that would surely be cool, and you don't even need any graphical skill whatsoever to pull that one off.
