Castle WolfenDoom3D + editor

This project I started long ago but wasn't able to finish it.
The last days I continued to finish it for the retro contest. And finally here it is - Castle WolfenDoom3D

It's a combination of Wolfenstein3D and Doom(1) in 3D.
Hope you like this (first) 5 levels.

(WARNING - violence!)

This is the download link (easy to use setup, >17MB)

sneak preview on youtube

If you like to create and share your own levels for Castle WolfenDoom3D please use the separate editor (WolfenDoom3DEdit.EXE) and the publish funktion in the menu.

Visit http://www.gameus.de/WolfenDoom3D/ to load the most current version and many new levels!

A new version is out (and ready for download).

The major enhancement is the package system.
Now you can load single levels as well as packages of levels (belong together) at startup. The editor was enhanced for packages. You can now pack levels to a package (and publish it).
Some minor changes in the KI and the sound system.

have fun, mercuryus

well, maybe not the last one but i think you get the idea. lots of people don't like installers and zip files can be opened on any system.

I like installers because of the option to uninstall software. And the negative aspects like registry entries can be be avoided by using a tool like TuneUp Utilities that defrag and clean up the registry.

Hello mercuryus!

Why don't you create a realtime editor? That should not be too much work (simple interface,...) but it would be really nice!

"Falls das Resultat nicht einfach nur dermassen gut aussieht, sollten Sie nochmal von vorn anfangen..." - Manual

Check out my new game: Pogostuck: Rage With Your Friends

Why should I spend that time?
What's the benefit for the user (and me)?

A new version (v0.2) is available to install with the cool installation.
Changes:
- optimizing then interaction of editor and game (-> levels from subdir "my levels" are directly startable from the level selection).
- bug with the fence fixed
- new floor, ceiling textures
- automatic removing of never rendered models
- new model "knight" (^)

Nice work!

My tipp, look at Blake Stone for some additional ideas. Its nearly the same, but a litte bit better than Wolfenstein, I think. I like sci fi ...

Why you dont use a binary code for the level-blocks?
For example:
One half byte includes the information about textures and the other flags like moveable, destroyable ...

PS: I hope my english is good enough -.-
