are we allowed to use graphic oriented code in our level?
such as shaders for terrains,
normal maps,
fur shaders and so on?

hmm it's not likely to everyone to have shader support, i am planning 2 version,one with shaders for comm+ users, and a shaderless one for free version users and those who do not want to use shaders.

Your level should not throw errors if your shader is not supported by the engine. You can check if it is PRO or below and use other materials as fallback.
You can use shaders at your own risk and make sure you have solid fallbacks just in case the jury has other hardware than you.

If your mdl files support normal maps,... it is great. But they should look good without shaders, too.

whoa i didnt know that.I'm still pretty much a noob to this.Ive been making levels in 3dsmax and converting them over to mdl fornat and using them as levels in my games frown oops.

ive never made any of my own textures for a level before

if the scale of the level is 256 quants = 2m
what resolution would be suitable to make make my textures?

300 DPI 1000 DPI ?
