i created a material with 3d studio MAX 5 of water and i've exported it to water.mat
can i use it with 3DGS.

I use that 3d cafe tutorials they are quite useful...

now i don't think you can -..cause .mat files are just made for 3dSmax and it doesn't have nothing to do with script, cause a .mat file is not only 1 material, and they aren't shader (i think):
So: this is a .mat file and there are some materials made by me...
So as you can see there is nothings with script..so i think you can't "copy the script" to use it with 3DGS

You can use shaders though.

ok,thank you
but i have anther idea
if i would write a mat in c-script with the setting of this material
like:
mat water
{
diffuse.red = 25;
diffuse.blue = 25;
diffuse.yellow = 25;
}

etc...
but there is an option to apply noise map, and the reflation???

yes..with shaders ..you must work with stages, and that.. like model skin2 is the noise map, and the skin1 the alpha.. blab bla.. but its harder...
Of course max is very nice to work ...cause its easier
