The Finnish Valmet assault rifles(Rk.62,76,95) use the 7.62x39mm round, but the Valmet M76F uses the 5.56x45mm N.A.T.O.. I know the 5.56mm model is only made for export, But I did'nt know they were used by the Finnish peace keepers.

My guess is the they use the 5.56mm model for peace keeping, because of the fact the ammunition is a N.A.T.O. round, So they can use ammuntion from other N.A.T.O. countries with out having to aquire a same caliber rifle if ammunition stocks are dangerously low or depleted.

I hope this answers your question.
