Can/will you post the model? (with texture but no need for shader)
Also, I preferr 3, but also think the black 'borders' need anti-aliasing or maybe just thinning out a little.
[EDIT] Isnt this the same model that you had some wierd dis-connected polys on its body somewhere before?

Thats true, nail down one artisitc approach, and just continue with that. Else you would be constantly unsure about the art, and dont get the actual game done. You know, i've played games where a different art style was an unlockable feature or cheat.Whats the difference if you allow the player to change it right away?
