Well i find the scene somewhat coherent and unified.
Too much specular , but we already said it.
For shadows, i taled about character shadows, not level.
I know that level shadows or lightmapping make alle the difference.
But for characters ,blob will suffice, caus when you play in action, you won't pay much attention.
On some games on PC , i put simple shadows for characters, and i can play great, i even don't take care about shadows.
It depends on games also, for an FPS you will pay more attention perhaps.
