so, im doing research. lets say you swim in a pool filled with water. and suddenly, somebody drops a rather large amount of chalk, brimstone (schwefel) and naphta onto you.

now, i want to know, would you burn to death in the pool and if yes, how much of the stuff do you need?
maybe its easier to prepeare the water in the pool with chalk and brimstone (there are brimstone baths for health purpouses) and all you have to do is add the naphta. could that work?

edit: also, what happens if you mix it with cocaine and sniff it? will your brain melt?

Well pure brimstone probably would ignite itself in the air and set the naphta on fire. I don't know if that's what you wanted to hear though...

While I'm no professional chemist I off the top of my head don't know a reaction including the said chemicals which would be able to rip oxygen out of the water to also burn the "victim" underwater...

Apart from that: No - that what's shown in the AVP 2 movie probably won't work...

im not referencing to that. im referencing to the tale in the bible where the prophet ignited the flame by pouring water over the wood. i saw a documentary that this woudl work if you mix cleared chalk (gelöschert kalk) with brimstone (schwefel) and naphta. you por the water over the mix, the naphta heats up to over 100 degrees celsius, ignites the chalk and the brimstone and this sets the wood on fire. since naphta heats up the water to more than the boiling point, theoretically the mix with the chemicals ignites and cant be undone until everything is burned. a man in a bath of those chemicals probably gets boiled or burned upt, im not sure about that yet...
