But what should I do with the panel that goes in the center?, I mean that's not part of the background, isn't there a way to just use a window for a 3d object? so I still can be able to fade in every element one by one. The solution given by you is a good one but it should not work for me because the panel of the center I'm going to use in the last version will have some details, so I want it to fade in as a separated element, I can do this with a 2D easily but with a 3D I can't

you can still do that, do not change fading function,

set layers as main background 1, 2nd background picture as 2, 3d model as 3, and the last large frame as 4.

that should work.

then edit the topmost graphic so it has that places are not transparent(copy parts of background to the top panel)

Sure, it is an infographic prototype in development for the government, In case that they aprove the program, I might be getting A7 Pro Edition. The program is about my current city and shows edifications as well as touristic places so if anyone want to visit the city they might get the software as some kind of guide, the program features the 3D map you're seeing, with gallery and information of every major touristic places as well as the history of the city.

This is how the prototype map of the city is going to be so for the full version I plan on having full adress of the places, take a look:

Looks interesting!

About the printer problem:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd145114%28VS.85%29.aspx
Include windows.h and use StartDoc, GetDefaultPrinter and the like, I have no clue but that's what google says.
