Hi everyone. I'm new to game programming and I just got the free lite c version. I've gone through the workshops and the forums but I can't find the bits and pieces I need to get me started on a real beginner project. I can't afford the version with the WED for now and all the tutorials I have are mainly geared towards it. Nevertheless, I'd like to learn a lot how to use my animated models. How do I know what to do since I don't have WED. any tutorials you can direct me to? Suppose I have an animated model in MED, how do I call the walking or jumping frames in my script? Please, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I know I can.

while youre better off buying the full version, id suggest flipping through the AUM magazines, theyve gotten me started fine. that and just plain expiramentation and practice. also the gamestudio manual covers A LOT.
as for calling the animations, i do beleive it has something to do with assigning them to a "skill" number, and then using that in your script. im not 100% on this, as i am new too. id wait for someone else to confirm this.

Do not concern yourself with my race, personality or origin. find my record in the pits, and then make your wager.

Thanks DJBMASTER. I checked and you're right. currently downloading. Might take a while because my internet connection isn't exactly top speed even for a 60mb download. With the WED version, will movement and other issues be much easier or will I still have to code the aspects I'm asking for myself? I'd like to be able to code these aspects myself so I can master it instead of relying on the engine all the time. Please direct me to the necessary tutorials. Still digging through the magazines...
I know I can.
