is nm.wdl a template? dont want to use templates, i want to do it on my own. but ill use it as an example though, where can i find it?

oh and do you think i did it right? (on the previous post)

id also like to learn bump mapping as well. any tutorials for it? actually aare there any good tutorials for normal mapping?

nm. is a wdl created by one of the users here. its a great tool for using normal maps. all you do is include it in your script, add the material to the mat_nm to your model in wed, and thats it. i would use the normal map generator tool to make your normals, diffuses and bumps.

ok...did you create the normal maps and add them to your model in MED? if you did that, then make sure the script is included in SED, the .fx file is in the right folder, and in WED, add the material only in the properties tab that says attached. and when you update entities in WED then run, your model should show the effect.

i made the normal maps and added them to the manage skins section, now theres 2 skins, the normal map and the actual texture, idk which one to set to the model... but the script is included in the main script, and i used the fx file in the "definition file" slot. for both skins. i havent done anything in wed though tongue

you really didnt have to do that last thing, it should be ok in WED. just make sure you add the mat_nm in WED, and that should be it.

ok, how? im sorry i looked everywhere for doing what you say. lol

wait, do you mean in with all the textures for the actual level? put it in there? i can do that! either way i guess its ok, the ring is in game and it looks ok, its just bump mapping n shaders might be cool lol
