And thus an English thread turns German...
Anyway, football (yes, I call it football, as does anyone else I know who plays for a club) is so awesome because it's easy to pick up and difficult to master: Anyone can join in a football game if they know "Don't touch the ball with your arms or hands" and then everyone has a mad time, yet those who have been playing a long time get opportunities to shine whether they go on a hero-run (although this can be considered bad sport if they do it too much) or just allow themselves a few powerful/accurate shots.
Compare this to the convoluted premises of so many other sports.

What I like: -The emotions -The feeling of a good running machine ( = team) -The simple gameplay -Fair play -Tröööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööööt What I dislike: -Discussions about referee decisions -Discussions about "wrong" or "right" fun -No more netzer <-> delling -The press. Take Klose for example. We can thank our Yogi Bear (Jogi Löw) that he has considered him for the team.
no science involved

Thanks for the translation, Blattsalat.
One thing I hate about football: People diving. I'm generally glad to take the referee's decision as final no matter what; it's the people who dive that make the game bad.

the german part aint really football important. some here just dont like fans and the fact that they celebrate. thats all. Ts. I'd have no problem with HAPPY people, if it just was that they are happy. I got a problem with drunk, overwhelming loud and primitive roaring jerks that celebrate a damn sport like it was the most important thing in the world. Jeez, they are just kicking a darn ball into a net. I absolutely respect the high level of physical coordination and skill, but I dont see football, soccer or however you call it as something that turns the world. If others do so, I dont mind, but they please shall not let their joy disturb the peaceful silence. ALright, this was my opinion about football, as requested by the topic creator.

After the game last saturday I searched together everything which was usable as fan mount and went to the Leopoldstraße in Munich. It was like collective major brain damage there... but.... oh it was so funny to just watch it. Over 100000 people totally weird and crazy due to a football match. So I grabbed my Vuvuzela and we tried to win against the signal horns of all those flagged cars Just watching it and disliking it is annoying. So I take part and it's fun I'm still on track with my vote for the finals: Netherlands vs. Germany, and we will win 2:1 I predicted that exactly at the first match of Germany against Australia. They looked at me as if I was missing some part of my brain or so.... but ha! mark my words!
