Nice! Guess, he is normally more happy than on the pics! Your sculpts are quite severe. Maybe, it is your taste, but at least in case of a child you could aim for a more relaxed and smooth expression. I would smooth everything a bit, except a few rims of the lips, eyes and nose. the rim of the lips should be a bit more curved. To change the expression a bit more modify the edges of the mouth with the grab tool. The lower part of the eyes and the part below it could be better. Compare the right picture of your son with the left picture of the sculpt. Maybe, the eyes could be a bit smaller, as well. When portraying such delicate features it could benefit from sculpting the raise of the eyeball in the area of the iris. http://de.academic.ru/pictures/dewiki/65/Augapfel.jpgThe inner part is a bit bigger than in the sculpt.

I hope that I didn't sound harsh. I just wanted to give hints about details and proportions - as I would need them as well, when finishing a portrait. Its only about that some feedback helps to see things that you won't have noticed yourself. The sculpt is already absolutely solid as it is - sorry, didn't mention that. But... ... still improvements possible.

...said the friends to the groom! Sure, that's my first feeling, too. The thing is: can you make a living from gifts? Or, do you need the liability of paid contracts to make ends meet... Starving in honor isn't an option. (When I read things about Sculptris, I thought he made the tool outside an already well paid job, but this wasn't the case as I see now.)

sure, but if i turn on the conspiracy theory part of my brain i can go as far as: - they bought the man and the software to use his skill and kill the competition (as yo may have noticed even z-brush users got interested in sculptris) - with the new sculptris forum on zb-central they also want to reel in the BIG and very talented Sculptris community. Sentences like that: Pixologic would also like to give you a little appetizer ‘goodie’ indeed a perfectly sweet companion to our big monster ZBrush are just lame, I've worked in advertising and PR in the last 10 years and actually feel like puking every time i read such things, especially when knowing what kind of people write them and what their real motives are. Conspiracy brain off.... This is a great opportunity for DrPetter to realize his ideas without worrying about food and bills

You are right. It is a two-edged affair. On the other hand, we all know that we need cooperation to make something bigger and more integrated, and that one has to make compromises to get the results that are only possible within a bigger team.
Me, myself, I hoped they could implement the algorithms in blender.
Now, we already got this magnificent tool, for free, and sort of complete. At least, I'm very satisfied about how it works.
