my 100m BB is measured to be 10000 unit long in game and MED... scaled in cm? this is confusing... and if it is scaled in CM, that really doesn't allow for a very large world does it? 20KM in scale if the 2097152 limit is true, but i can't even get that amount... what am i doing wrong?
i seem to hit the wall at 15000.

it's up to you to decide how long/wide/high a quant is. There's no definition. For huge outdoor scenes, a quant can be 1 meter, where in indoor levels it could be 1 cm... i don't appear to have that kind of range....
i don't think the map compiler can handle such huge polygons anyway. You should stay WAY below the maximum range! Sure, the position resolution is fixed point (0.001) but physics, shaders, vertex position [...] are in float, and the precision decreases as you approach the "border".

i think that my problem, i don't know where to define the quant size since i am running it without loading a map. can i define it in SED? No. As is said, it's not definable. You define it indirectly by scaling your models/objects. If 10.000q = 100m, and its too big for your needs, simply scale it down by 10 or even 100, so 100q = 100m. BUT: the lower the scale, the less precise your (relative) position resolution will be! 100q = 100m is almost useless, because in this case, you can only move in 10cm-steps!
