Ok Ayrus,
I have some real reservations about releasing this video. It drops the FPS down to 15 FPS, which will probably just end up making you dizzy because the camera will be jerking around. Also at 15 FPS, the test weapon, which I am attaching for now with vec_for_vertex and vec_for_normal until I get some animated weapons, will be way off at that FPS.
This clip will still make you feel like your hopped up on crack cocaine, but is better than the original one I had up. I also found that I do have a flutter in the camera at certain times, that I didn't even notice at normal speed. I guess that's good to know.
Anyhow, here is a ZIP of a 30 second video clip, sound included (About 8mb):
Short video teaser of a early alpha battle.
That's my last teaser stuff until the demo is released. I am sure it will change googles by the time the demo is released.

Lol. I used a program called FRAPS (www.fraps.com) to capture it, so it was FRAP compressed I suppose.
I have now compressed it to DivX, that seems to be the common Codec. I am not much of a movie guy obviously, but I learn quickly.

Yeah, that probably is a bit disturbing with no picture, heh.

OK I can see it now. So that's what all those noises were. The battle system looks pretty neat, I like the added addition of the pentagram below the "hounds from hell" or whatever they are. However there seems to be some clipping problems or something; the cane shows up behind the player at times, as if it is being rendered after the player. Looks kinda weird and kinda distracts from the overall feel of the game. Sorry if that issue was already addressed. I'm sure it will be fixed as soon as you get an animated weapon model rather than a for_vertex one. Is the player going to be hitting things with a wooden cane the whole game? Or will there even be upgrades, like steel cane?

Thanks for the response Logan,
The weapons will look fine when the animated models come out. The for_vertex stuff was just to keep me moving along for now. The pentagon-star targetted box does clip, I just have set off of the target entity's z position. I will trace down using use_box to make sure it doesn't clip next update. The camera obviously has a flutter when it gets directly behind the player too which is really noticeable on this video at 15 FPS, I will also address that next update, just a line or 2 of code should fix that. After watching the video myself a few times I will probably go ahead and slow the game play down a bit, it seems a bit fast to me, although not near as bad in the real game as that video makes it seem.
Thanks for your input, Loco

When you start fraps, the frame rate drops because fraps takes a lot of renderpower. Couldn´t the club fixed to the hand if you add to it´s action proc late? I am working with that, and my models are puzzled together like no ones else models.

Hi Ex Citer,
Yeah, using proc_late would probably help the weapon stay closer to where it belongs. I might go ahead and add that until I get the animated weapons.
