At the moment, the flashlight effect is actually 2 cone models with different cone angles and different base alphas (transparent, flare, alpha around 5 (fluxuates a bit)), plus a d3d spotlight doing the actual lighting. It actually looks pretty good most of the time, of course, there are situations where the cones pass through a wall. In outdoor areas this can sometimes be viewed by camera. This could be solved with a trace and scaling, but don't think we will go there for the demo especially since there is a spotlight shader being worked on. Hopefully we will get the spotlight shader before demo release, but that is iffy at best. But by the time the actual game comes out we should have something better implemented for sure.

Yeah, the player will have options to turn off noise, etc. Probably have the option to have noise off, panel noise, or shader noise I imagine. Atleast the code for all 3 of those options is in the game right now.
