could someone explain to me how that function that superku posted is implimented? i dont wanna steal it or anything. just want to know how i would put it in my game i mean if it was an action, id know.. but... hm.. idk im just trying to learn lol do you include it in an action or..?

Hey guys
sorry I was kinda busy lately so I wasn't able to check back the forum.

mittlerweile hab ich eigentlich einen relativ netten effekt hinbekommen.

Aber mir ging es in diesem Post auch viel darum generelle Lösungen für
Effekte zu finden, da ich mit der Suchfunktion selten wirklich hilfreiche
Themen finde, da die Probleme dann meistens doch sehr spezifisch sind.
Ich versuche eigentlich eine Art Final Fantasy Kampfsystem zu programmiern
und deshalb schau ich halt so nach effekten für Zauber beispielsweise wie zB
Feuerbälle usw da ich mir keinen richtigen Reim darauf machen kann wie man so etwas zusammenkriegt. Ich habe jüngst zB Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep gespielt
und die Effekte wie zB die Feuerbälle usw sehen atemberaubend aus. Die bestehen wohl aus Sprites, Modellen und Partikeln. nur schwer das alles richtig zu timen damit es gut aussieht. Also fänd ichs sehr interessant mal zu sehen wie
ihr alle so effekte zusammenprogrammiert.

Thanks for your posts previously but to clarify, I didn't want to get a solution only for fireballs
but for lots of effects like ice, lightning and so on, too. Thats because i want to make a battle
system like the ones from games like final fantasy, and thats the reason why i was looking for
general solutions for effects because the searchfunction doesn't help often because the problem
which the posts deal with are too specific sometimes. I wanted to wrap it up for everyone because
its hard to time all the things like models, sprites and particles to generate a good looking effect.
recently i played kingdom hearts birth by sleep and the effects for magic spells are just awesome.
but i don't have a clue on how to build up something like this. so every mentioned solution for effects
are welcome.
