Combat Simulation System (CSiS)

The CSiS development team is proud to officially announce the immediate availability of the CSiS Public Deathmatch Playtest.

Youtube:

CSiS is a real time 3d action space game that combines nice 3d graphics, innovative game modes and fast-paced spaceship dogfights. Being Multiplayer only, it combines aspects of Counter-Strike, Quake3Arena, Freespace and Freelancer. You can choose between more than 10 deadly missiles, tactical and projectile guns, to equip one of the 5 lightning fast customizable ships with. CSiS features the A7 engine package with custom extensions that make for the incredibly fast, detailed modern render output.

What will you get with the CSiS Public Deathmatch Playtest?
The full CSiS game is not done yet. But we want our target audience to be part of the developing process. We release this demo version to gather information about network and graphics performance, stability, bugs, and to test the gameplay.
The CSiS Public Deathmatch Playtest contains only the deathmatch game mode and one map, but is otherwise fully featured.

The final game will sport 5 additional innovative game modes, from deathmatch variants to coop modes. Several Graphics enhancements are already in the pipeline as well. So what you will see does not reflect the final quality of the product.

Download now:

Will download in the morning,

also since you have a playable demo available, why not start a moddb/indidb page and start building fan-base from the alpha-stage?

We will have official servers up and running tonight and tomorrow night. (GMT+1) We'll post here when we start them, but you can also start your own any time you wish.

Whoa i was impressed, we had some great fun on the server. Its quite fluid, the logo system is great and the graphics are stunning. Make sure you try it out and join now while there are players online wink.

You've got to learn some tricks, be sure to check out the key mapping before you join. throttle your speed when trying to rapidly change direction and try to use fast and agile ships as a beginner.

you should also make it more clear that most weapons (especially the machine guns) actually need you to aim at the ship and not at the "aim-help" crosshair thats always displayed. i coulnd't hit much before i figured that out wink

More feature suggestions (I've told you most if this in the chat already):
- much wider radar range, but leave the attack range as it is. You often fly around searching for far away players.
- make better use of weapon configuration (keys 1 to 4) so that you can switch between direct hit weapons and delayed ones fast if you've equipped both.
- display the weapon which you've used to actually kill the opponent

Balancing:
- the slow bombers should be a bit easier to turn around, you've hardly have a chance against the fast ships.
