Maybe that's where the Japanese culture is superior to our in term of acceptance and candidness. We all know the polls where Japan is one of the countries most likely to accept robots with artificial intelligences into their society. In a way this is a first step towards that. Whereas in other countries, new technology is often frowned upon for a long time until it finds acceptance in mainstream culture. Especially in countries like Germany, where a lot of people like to hold on to constants, a life that never changes. Just look at all the movies where robots are the bad guys and in the end try to take over the world, yet in Japan, there are lots of animes with robots, and waddaya know, they are often one of the good guys.

Perhaps we should cut ourselfs off a slice from Japanese culture and start being happier (and less grumpy), have more acceptance (and less prejudice) and being more open to what the future holds in store for us so that one day you can enjoy having a kegger with your Robot pal in College.
