Heya people

I wondered if you might have an idea how 2D collision in 3D Gamestudio works. Do i have to make a special layer with a special color or something to make the player realize that he won't be able to pass a wall for example?

I have really no idea how it works, hope you can help me, because i'd like to make a mini game in 2D

thanks in advance, as always.

This function might help you:

However, it's not available in the public version yet. You have to wait until the new version gets released.

Just look into AUM magazine, there was a great workshop about 2D games and making collusions. Good luck.

For a jump n' run or something like that I advice you to make
a layer (which is invisible in your game) with spezial colors
and then you can use the pixelfunctions to simulate collisions.
That's the way it's discribed in the AUM.

Then you can use different colors for Whater etc. also, and thats very useful,
just a bit slow, and if you want to make collisions with enemies you have to
look for another solution.
(just painting with pixel_to_bitmap on the collisions-bitmap over the enemies is too slow)
