A good engine based on Ogre 3D this time.
It has a good amount of features.
I like the HUD things in the 3D game.
It comes with several demos showing all possibilities of the engine also laugh

NeoAxis

Te Indie license is just 100$ and for game under a ceratin amount of revenues.
And you have a non commercial license to use the engine, test it without selling games also.
The commercial is around 400$, i really don't know if it is a good plan, but compared to A8 Pro , i think yes !

commercial games

It has Web player, and some Mac version perhaps will come.

What is grea, it's .Net language and cients seems to cliam that coding is really easy and clear.
Well i'll have to try it also.

Interesting. I checked it some time ago, it worked fine, but the import pipeline was way too slow and too complicated for my purposes. I lost too much time to export to Ogre ascii, convert later to binary Ogre, import to Neoaxis, create materials manually and so on.

But now it also supports DAE. So I have to try it again. Features are great and I can surely create nice visuals with it.

Thanks for the update, Ratchet.

This would be perfect engine for displaying visuals with because it has all the post process effects immediately available for you. I actually really like this engine. Being able to write your own classes is extremely powerful.

Just a gut feeling , never actually used NeoAxis
I have got the impression , going through the doc, that NeoAxis is that kind of engine which makes too much for you
I mean, I prefer flexible engines , supplying just a small set of highly abstracted commands
What do you think ?
On the other hand I agree with you that being able to write your own classes is extremely powerful
Did you make a a NeoAxis vs Unity3d comparison ?
As I said in an other thread there are a few new engines which I would prefer over Unity3d but when you come to performance and stability , well... game is over
I doubt that a lonley wolf developer can compete against a 30+ developer team

The thread is NeoAxis Engine and who have used it laugh
What are the great points and the bad points !!
it's not NeoAxis Vs Unity or Vs A8 !
For that sort of comparison just make another thread named
NeoAxis Vs A8 !

There are some demos you can download, i don't have all stuff (Dll needed, .Net assembly etc ... ) on my EepC t orun the demos.

But years ago , when i tested it, it had some level with different sections showing different features :
Shaders
Physics
RTS
FPS etc ...
All was running very smooth on a PC i had !
Today in my new PC when it will be backs, i think the demos should run as smooth and fluid as in the old days !

For a programmer it brings all Physics, Shaders needed !
But you are free to write your own ones.

It has lot of stuff usefull even for a programmer !
Why loosing time re inventing the wheel each time ?

I admit the engine is more toward :
Make your game with tools and stuff provided, than programm
all your tools , editors , shaders etc ... by yourself !

Ogre 3D allow you to programm like you want , and NeoAxis is just some .Net wrapper for Ogre3D that is C++.
NeoAxis engine just provides some tools and some Class Helper
to start, usefull for non pure coders.

Well if you understand how to write classes and you are an experienced programmer; I could see this engine having alot of unique potential. I dont believe that any programmer or artist should have to spend hours trying to place an object correctly and have to fool around with trying to get just the right shader or level of HDR just perfect. I loved how easy it was to place an entity and have it appear in 3D with a generic shader already attached and then use a slider to adjust the proper color of sky and HDR. Those type of things I would consider inconsequential but important. Having the engine take care of the little things for me is pretty darn convenient. I've only recently started learning about classes so this type of scripting would take me awhile to wrap my brain around.

Neoaxis, I played around with this years ago. And I got the same PoV like AlberTO.
Much to clean and not flexible enough. The activity in their forum broke done as "unity 3D" stepped on the market.

So it came in mind that this .Net wrapper arround Ogre dies in the next time.
I will check their page again to see the new stuff.

I saw the same happen in other 3d-engine forums. The Borg are successfully assimilating.
