not sure what you are exactly asking for, but for rendering/view/text/other stuff to textures you need at least commercial edition.(Render-to-texture feature)

If that text is created at runtime than yes. If the text or image is satatic than you can paint them on a program like photoshop and use the painted image as the skin of a model and creta the entity using the created model -- that, you can do with free version
