The backup has been played in, but the backups don't go back far enough, the world is already griefed severly. So if everyone here agrees, then I would start a new world.

I have no OBJECTION to a new world... Assuming the backup is also is bad shape...
Shame though, I got a lot of digging and housekeeping done in the last few days. My son re-started his house... And his noobie-brother started one...
But I dont think they'll complain much either...
Shame we can keep this world as it is and then we can have a "Fallout" MC world... But I suppose theres plenty of those around...
[EDIT]I got a sugestion, and its pretty extreme... Seeing as I was able to find our servers IP address through a google search for "minecraft server", How about we change the IP, and you only tell it to us via a group PM thread... That should be safe from google wouldnt it be? And if you want to get REALLY extreme, you could require us to 'expose' our minecraft logon name in that thread, so everyone knows who is who, so griefing is less likely, as the culprit is sure to be recognised...
Just an idea...

Thats what I thought. But, If he starts a PM with all the details, then adds anyone 'trustworthy' to that thread if they ask, that would be a lot less maintenance for him.
Wouldnt anyone added 'after the fact' be able to see previous posts in that PM thread? Ive not tested this...

right now it's practically still 100% vanilla, Bukkit refuses to work.
