Using the Lambda is a Logo artwork, not the name of the game...

@Redeemer: Thank you dude, I didn't know that. Any way as I said before, it isn't standard English character.
@Damocles_: It isn't used only in artworks, Valve use it almost everywhere where Half Life is mentioned. Or do you mean that name which is used on every game box is an artwork? Yeah, you a right that they do not use lambada in spelling (when we read the name), but still, they use it when they write the name, so name includes non standard English letter.

To me, saying Half Life is meant to be spelled with a lambda is like saying the movie A.I. is meant to be spelled with the silhouette of a little boy.

All they're doing is incorporating a logo into the title. The distinction between this and actually using names spelled with a non standard English letter is obvious -- one is purely stylistic and those searching for it will unanimously use the standard English letter it's meant to represent; the other is actually a spelling issue, and will divide related material between those that use the non standard English letter and those that replace it with something from the English alphabet.

Good opinions. It also seems that game-naming has evolved over time. For example, today in our fast paced world it's almost as if people aren't going to be patient enough to read a long game name... you have to get it all out and at them concisely and swiftly. Buyers might get halfway through a name like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time before deciding it sounds too lame (interesting though, because of the reputation Zelda has now, that they can still use The Legend of Zelda: ___________ format and not worry about that). id software, which is not a bad example to follow, sticks with titles like Doom and Quake. Even games like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft are shortened to CoD and WoW when they are talked about among gamers.

I remember what TUSC was supposed to be (and esp. what it wasn't), but I cannot recall what the letters stand for?

Its nice if you find a good name but its very unimportant. spelling, domain names and copyright are way more important then a name.

just find something that matches your game style and isnt related to mass murdering, the nazis or the pepsi corporation.

just dont try too hard
