Good post, Firoball! Similar to my thoughts...

Also concerning your last part of questions to Conitec I'm feeling with you (grew up with A3 ^^), but you already said it: "... even if you don't want to tell us because you don't have the answer we want to hear."
Even if jcl plans to stop next year working on 3dGS he surely would never tell us. We only can hope he doesn't want and stays motivated to continue his (digital) life project (-> even if he is not movitated at the moment he couldn't or at least probably wouldn't tell us).

And you ignore that jcl gave us a good reason for the stagnation: Dagobert

The development started in December, and the main part is now done. Development will go on, but won't need much resources anymore. So the focus can now be on Gamestudio again. The next steps for the immediate future will be OpenAL, new PhysX features, and new templates.

I guess developing a game with 3dGS is a really really good indicator for that jcl/conitec is standing behind 3dGS.

...but yeah, I would enjoy hearing these direct words out of jcl's mouth, as well grin
