That scene is not for the game, its a testenvironment for the object placement.
There are actually no visual effects at all.

Its smart in general not to mix um Design/Graphics and Gameplay/Architecture in an early stage.

for object placement purposes it looks good imo, you could use 6 sided sprites for better look on dead grass.
