DOF in Gothic3 looked bad and it was the first feature I switched off. It also does not make much sense to have a great visible distance in a game while you are not able to see sharp at that distance. Since you dont know where the player looks at you cannot focus the dof distance unless you do eyes tracking with additional hardware.

In an image or in a cut scene you can use this effect to force the player to look at the sharp region. So it makes more sense in this situation.

Oh i forgot to mention to ratchet about the fight system, yes we are using the modified lancaster's glorious combat, it's great for commanding multiple tokens and controlling directly even. It has a few bugs right now due to skills conflicts with shade-c but we'll sort it out during the next couple of weeks.

For my part i play Two Worlds 2 (PS3) , i have plyaed Raisen (PC) and i find that the Depth Of Field make the scene look great ! Its' not an FPS you don't need to spy on very long distance.

On Two Worlds 2 indeed the Depth of Field is dynamic and adapt to situation if for example you play a ranger and enter zoom mode with an arc !

One thing great is that with DOF , you can have very low
polygon for objects using LOD, you won't notice how polygons
are low due to the DOF.
So in fact DOF can be a big use for frame rate in some cases; like the old techniques using FOG or clipping.

I propose to make Depth Of Field switchable in option menu laugh

Well the simplest solution to DOF and other features is, to
make it an option in the preferences.

I also did not like the DOF in Gothic3, others like it.
If it can be switched on/off, it shall be implemented as option.

I also have the idea of a "target framerate".
By this, the user just enters the (average) framerate he likes, and gets it.
The LOD, and adjustable effects can be altered in runtime then
to render the scene in the target FPS.

Especially for users who dont like switching options, this is
a really convinent way to have the game run fast enough while
displaying the maximum of effects his hardware can mangage.

Nice, finally a postapocalyptic RPG with a nice blue sky. Adds a lot to the image.

Also, I WANT A FUCKING DEMO! Some gameplay footage would be quite nice, too, for starters....

yes, its some recorder I found online, runs faster in normal setting.

The wepaons and shields are just temporary, and need some
wasteland touch.

In truth the weapons and shield will be attached on the character shoulders when he's "out of combat" and so running walking.
