I don't play multiplayer games, but nevertheless I'm impressed by the work behind this project. Really well done! Anyone who's interested in Pathfinding/Object avoidance: There's a gallery of the work in progress under the Gallery link above as well (scroll down a little). I'm thinking about making a post about the making of, how I got these bots to avoid asteroids in an environment in which they could not only go up and down but also left and right. If you would like to read such a post, just tell me. I would certainly be interested in reading it. I'm always interested in these kind of subjects. BTW: I can't access the CSiS forums: "You have been permanently banned from this board."I can't remember doing anything evil, though. I don't even know, if I was ever there before.

Gnah, yes, the forums. We have had problems with bots and banned whole regions of IPs, because we kept getting bots from similar IP regions. So you're in one of the regions. Easiest way - for us - would be if you pm'ed me your IP ( http://www.whatsmyip.org/)and then we can unbann that. If you don't want to do that, we'll find another way. Sorry for the fuss. All right, I'll see if I can find some time for the how-to-pathfinding post. Looking forward to writing that, but I don't know yet how general it'll be or how much I want to go into LiteC-specific things... will see.

Hey, sorry I haven't gotten around to writing the pathfinding post yet, I don't know if I'll be able to make it as I have a last exam coming up and lots of other stuff besides CSiS to do. We added a new burning effect that now shows when the ship's too close to the sun, so that the player knows to get away: (Previously we just used the shield-hit effect for this, which made people think they were being hit and should lose health when in fact they were only getting a warning that the sun's too close.)

I like the idea, but if we make any profit with it I think we'll have to make sure it's legal before we start something like that. And I don't know if we have the capacity to read on even more laws than we already do at the moment. I'll keep it in mind for the next demo though, which I hope to release in about a month.
Hm. I didn't know 128 MB were too much to download nowadays. Most of this is in the 2d Images folder, we won't be able to make that much smaller without losing a lot of quality.
Should I forget, would you write me a PM or post here once we release the next demo?

For some reason, internet access isn't considered worthy of much regulation by the US government yet, so a majority of users connected to the internet here are people like me who still don't have unlimited broadband internet. And unfortunately, while 120 megabytes isn't considered to be very large by today's standards, it's still a large file to download.
Personally, we have a lot of people living in one house, sharing one internet connection, and our monthly data plan usually gets used up pretty quick. We tend to avoid files that are greater than 100 mb in size.
