Hey Guys,

I think it's time to show you some of my work. Unfortunately I kinda lost my way at the moment and I'm not working on anything recently. But nevertheless I want to show you some stuff.

#1 Triple Triad
- This is a Triple Triad clone I made for a job appliance. Of course all used images of game characters you might recognize belong to their respective owners (eg Square Enix, Capcom, etc.)

#2 Conditional Turn Based Battlesystem Prototype
- This is a prototype of a Final Fantasy styled CTB Battlesystem. I made 2 ATB (Active Turn Battle) and a Tactical Battle System, too.
This one got the resolution of a PSP Game. Unfortunately I think i wont finish it.

#3 Next thing i wanna show you is a Diablostyled Prototype. I made up the Inventory System, the Skilltree and the Statusscreen of the Player. Furthermore its possible to attack monster, which drop items and money. but sadly i stopped working on this either.

#4 Harvest Moon styled Game
- This is a project I'm actually quite proud off. It's something like a Harvest Moon Game. One of my largest projects with 3D Gamestudio. it got a full day-night cycle, wether, its possible to grow turnips and there are a lot of other features. i finished the menu, map switching is possible and there is a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes

- one page of the menu

- the farm

- the players house interior

#5 RPG Prototype
- This is one of my largest RPG Prototypes. It got talking NPCs, a full menu with a skillsystem, an inventory and equipmenu. additionally it got some wether and particle test effects and an unfinished action-styled battlesystem

- The inventory of the game
RPG Pic 1

- a scene
RPG Pic 2

Well that aren't all of my projects, I got a lot more but i think thats enough for today. I would like to hear your opinion.
How do you like the screenshots and how do you like my work?
I am also open for constructive criticism because i stopped all my projects because i dont know what i should work on.

thanks for your interest if you read this thread! and i hope you'll comment

cheers Roxas

Excellent work Roxas!

while it's great for having 101 ideas of a game you want to make, they're unfortunately non-fruitful until you finish making them.

try working on one game at a time, there's no point anyone in the forum telling you which one to work on, it should be you who decides as it's you who's creating it and need to motivate yourself.

it'd be best to complete the one you can see being finished first, reap the rewards and use what you've learned on your more adventurous projects.

wish you the best in the one you choose! laugh

I think it's nice, the toonish style in terms of graphics.. what can i say it looks pretty, and it's commercial quality.

I could use the diablo style code if you are willing to share it with the community laugh

Thanks for your replies so far! ^^
I always like to hear some compliments and yeah all of you are quite right.

I really need to make up my mind and to concentrate on one of these. Or maybe i should use my gathered knowledge to make a game so that i can finish it. The problem often is that I lose focus on a game when It's getting to the guts ^^'. really complicated stuff like pathfinding or a.i.

I'd also really would like to make an action-based RPG but I'm not quite familiar with all the gravity jumping stuff and sword collision, climbing ladders and so on. Maybe you guys know some good tutorials for keeping track of this.

But I also thought off making some tutorials like an RPG Tutorial or something. I know that there was one from "basketballben" or something ^^ maybe it would be great to share some knowledge for scripting something like a turn based rpg with lite-c. What do you think?

cheers !
Roxas

Really good 3D work laugh

Yes , you should concentrate on making one game instead of several at same time.
I personnaly i would say make the the FF style game.
It will be less complicated, caus no need for path finding ,
if you have some ennemies walking around or following a premade path (like in FF13 or FF12).
For combat turns based won't need collision also.

Well it's to you to decide, the action RPG can be great, but it will require lot more programming side like you said (path finding, basic ennemie AI, simple collision (based on distance and angle) etc ...

what you can do is mix all that in one game also, why not laugh ?
Somr FF game that have Harvest moon phases also !

Keep it up !
