I was wondering, since I'm not so good at 3d modelling with MED, can you import models from the free google sketch up program? It seems the right kind of program for me and it would be handy if I could make my models with it. Thanks for any help!

use Zbyl's X Exporter to import your model to .x! Than import the x file to med... there are some problems with the skin mapping i belive... you'll have to set every part of the modell to its right material(sorry for my english) xxxxxxx
Es ist immer wieder erstaunlich, dass Leute die riesen Scripte schreiben die einfachsten sachen nicht können zb. mich mit SIEBEN x zu schreiben!

Never used it. As far as I can see, you can export with the free version to DAE. With the Autodesk Fbx Converter you can convert that format to fbx, which you can import into MED and save as an mdl. Don't know whether it actually works, but this shouldbe the way it works.
Hi... I have done this entire process... So, yes it can be done... In my Whistler project I used local correct building models from google and put them exactly where they belong... There are a few tricks. First off you need to experiment with which is the best type of DAE file. And... yes... the texturing is the toughest part... One type of DAE helps minimize the re-texturing work... Also, when you do find the best type of DAE and get it into MED YOU WILL WANT TO CHANGE THE JPG textures to TGA files. That will reduce the file size greatly... It has been quite awhile since I did all that... But what I wrote should help a bit... Best of luck...
