Those should both be available as separate game modes, I think. Having "survival mode" (the current system) makes dying a big deal, which makes the game more intense, I believe

But I can understand some impatient players might prefer regular respawning.
If you don't already, perhaps impose a time-limit on the current mode, so the last couple of players aren't just hiding? I don't know if you've already done this, because I have exams and can't afford the time to try it out yet. But I definitely
will try it.
It's great to see so many multiplayer games in development!
I remember back in the old days when there were almost no good examples of multiplayer games in GS and everyone thought it was GS's fault (although relatively recent updates have helped somewhat).
