I believe that they came back to Gamestudio in 2007 after trouble with Torque`s scripting language.

Torque is very difficult to program in, it's scripting language is good, but the C++ side of things is a mess, trying to edit or add to it to create your game around it is quite difficult. 3DGS has a very intuitive and flexible scripting language.
