Hello.
I'm trying to finish the well-known WED tutorial but I'm still halfway. Although it looks simple at first, it's a real ordeal. I don't know about you but I know I've been trying hard to do the tut and to hold on to using WED.
The problem?
I made a cube and now I'm trying to subtract it from a wall of the house but it makes a hole in the ground of the courtyard and of the house. I said I'd lock the objects that I want untouched but the result is the same. I tried "exclude" and "off" modes but in vain. What are these for, if not for this purpose?
A lame solution would be to move the wanted-unaffected objects away and put them back once the subtraction is done. But there's a simpler way, right? which one is it?

Group wall and subtracting cube, Scope Down, CSG subtract, Scope up, ungroup.

Now, that's professional. You sound like you know what you're doing with WED. I'd appreciate your opinion about another problem (thread) that I ran into. Don't want to push you -- just throw an idea.
