I had the same problem with the scene rendered in what seemed like panels that would shear away and cause horrible artifacts. On my video card you can set profiles for executables, forcing vertical sync on the game engine solved this problem, though I don't know if it is a d3d parameter available in A_6 I think newsound is right about your desktop versus game resolution if you can't force vertical sync.

I have a geforce Fx 5600 256mb and I download the last dirver for XP 4.93 i guess. and then Something happen.. Like black Lines ( like big squares) or sometimes it divides halp the screem , and its crazy.. I have to restart the pc , to get it work .. And this didn't happen before.. I Had to downlooad the last driver cause of Dx9c support.. And I guess that the problem is the DirectX9.c Thing... cause with 9.B it did not happen... And.. I noticed that If i activate post processing it appears, and if i turn it off.. its solved..( But thins black things with post processing on , just happen sometimes..) I already though about by another card..
