Why is Unity3D the only engine with editors for Mac OS X? Like seriously, give me just this stupid editor I don't even want to run games.

I can't see a reason why a Mac shouldn't be good for game design too?! I mean, its just a fucking operating system, people should get over it and just accept that what they use might not fit the bill for everyone. Sorry, no offense to you, but some people can't accept the fact that Windows, Linux distro of choice, Mac OS X, BSD flavor of choice or even Solaris, that they are all mature operating systems and some people just don't like Windows and use something else which they can use the best and like the most.

Why is Unity3D the only engine with editors for Mac OS X? Maybe I am wrong but I suspect it has been a smart marketing strategy Unity guys could debug their engine "in peace" before entering the arena of windows game engines MAC people never complained , having no other choice Remember the days when Unity was still MAC only In all forum it was given for granted that Unity was the best engine around I wondered , at the time, how people could make such claim I dont think there are so many developers having both a PC and a MAC The preparation of the advent of the new Messiah should be studied in the business school

Beside that its called Mac, Mac users tend to be the most bitchiest people if it comes to software. If Unity3D had any serious bugs or design flaws (be it simple UX things), they had no peace at all. Trust me, I'm a Mac user and developer myself.

Hi, I got it and tested the Forest level, was pretty simple to start but you need to register on Crydev.net to start. Look really nice! AS always this kind of tools are overwhelming (got the same feeling with UDK and Unity) at first glance. Did you got any luck make the forest demo as a true game run(not in editor mode)? I wanted to test it in full game mode since I wasted money on a 3D vision set. In general it says you should be able but maybe there are limits with the included assets only? They mention the idea of supporting Indie if a little team go commercial but there is no general idea of license cost specified at all regarding what you can expect $1000, $10000, $100000? Anyone knows?

I was using the Cryengine 3 sandbox editor for Crysis that Crytek released before this SDK, and I was able to run every level that I did inside Crysis 2. And I can say that it is very good game engine and it has a great editor. Now, with this SDK, you have to run the Launcher.exe to run the game outside the editor. If you want it to automatically load the first level of your game, just create an autoexec.cfg file in the the root of the Engine (the same folder the system.cfg is in) and put this inside: map Forest

Well since it got official today, I might need to be a bit patient. The new wiki and lot of info seems to be just in the startup (and with non functional links). Regarding the launcher, it seems this one is a new kind of breed. One hint I got scanning for any help, it seems you must set up the binaries and folder structure as if you are running your own game not a mod or in edit mode. I presume there will be info on howto do things as fast lot more people have it up and starts to ask questions Just this question how to use the launcher was even raised in the release topic so this is not unique.
