You know, these would be perfect for my future "terminal network" that I plan to install in my own home some day.

My plan:

Build a server room and fill it with powerful Linux servers. Setup a multi-tiered home network that links the servers to various cheap terminals I place around my house. These terminals can be used to log into my servers to access software and files. They can also be used to open communications to other areas in my house.

Since Linux is a multi-user system I could feed multiple terminals with just one or two servers. If I raise a large family or I have company, I need only install new terminals to plug into my server.

Yes, precisely that. That's the way a home network should be set up - its much easier to manage a network that is really composed of one "god" server and several "mortal" terminals, rather than a half dozen "demigod" PCs which are all an equal threat to network security, as well as a pain in the back to manage.
