take a look at the manual.

I for myself ran in wired problems when playing an animation and add separate bonerotating.

Now I play around with "ent_animatefrom". So I do basic movement with the modelanimations.

And add detailmoving like eyes, lips from an invisible clonemodel.

Works greate so far.
