That review brought up many good points, some of which I covered in my review above, but I take the opposite perspective on their verdict. The racing actually seems a little boring to me in contrast to the running and gunning, which is good stuff in my opinion. I also have to disagree on what they thought was weak gun mechanics - I found them solid and satisfying.

At any rate, I'll post more comments here as I play the game and gain a better perspective on it overall.
