hi,
I haven't been using gamestudio for a while and wanted to start again, but now my sed always crashes after a few mins. I have Kaspersky and I've read that it can make problems. Is that true? and is there a possibility to make this work again, except uninstal kaspersky?

thx in advance
valle

Does your SED crash while you test your games?

It crashes while you're writing? I can not imagine that Kaspersky can cause this, but maybe it's some other program, or a damaged MFC library. Boot your PC in safe mode and then check if crashes still happen. If so, use the msconfig program to disable suspicious services or processes. Let us know if you find something.

What Lite-C version / edition do you use? And what operating system? And what error message do you get when SED crashes?

I remember having issues with sed + kaspersky when a7 first released, could be related. It'd really slow down when i try to test run, and the game would run really slow too. When i close the engine window it gets a little faster, but not as fast as before running the engine. It'd then eventually crash.

There was also something with clipboard getting blocked while using sed but i do not know if 2 problems were related.

I've had serious issues with Kaspersky and SED, too, esp. severe slowdowns, typing one character took several seconds. Deinstallation of Kaspersky did not fix the problem (for me), SED will continue to stay slow.
I've had to re-install Windows twice (or three times) to isolate the cause of the slowdowns and to make sure it's really the installation of Kaspersky.
Contacting Kaspersky's support is useless, they say that's impossible or it's Conitecs fault.

I use gs a8 free edition and Windows 7.
When sed crashes, windows just tells me sed no longer works and then closes it.
But it doesn't get slow by me, it works fine, until it suudenly crashes.
heres the error (sry it's in german):

The crash seems to happen in the ieframe.dll file,
which comes with the Internet Explorer.

Do you have any IE "enhancements" or toolbars installed? Often they get installed without any notice. Maybe you can find a guide on how to remove them all somewhere. Make sure its exactly for your IE version.

Did your anti-virus oder firewall add itself to the IE?

Finally, how about completly uninstalling GS, deleting the folder and then installing it again?
Make sure you backup your projects and other valuable files (f.i. keyfile) first.
