I saw this problem (suddenly not rendering the edit views) on A5,A6,A7 not shure maybe also on A8.
On different Systems with different setups.
In Med and Wed...

I guess its related to the editor not getting the rendering surface when the engine was started meanwhile.

Try around changing the dx rendering option in the preferences back and forth.
