even with A7 you can use unlimited dynamic lights. the limitation of 8 lights was in A6

The A7 light manager supprts an arbitrary number of dynamic lights that are visible at the same time . The maximum number of lights can be set through the max_lights variable (default: 100 for A7, 8 for A6). http://www.conitec.net/beta/aentity-lightrange.htm

sorry, I think I mistook it, the limit of dinamic lights applies when you use for example the specBump shader, which supports up to 3 lights at the same time

Well it's not really nonsense: Dues to the hardware limitation, a single entity, block, or terrain chunk can still not receive light from more than 8 dynamic light sources simultaneously. If an object lies within the ranges of more than 8 lights, it is affected by the 8 most recently created lights only. This ensures that creating a new light has an immediate effect on the environment even if many dynamic lights are already around.

There are not many examples where a scene consists of a single entity, block or terrain, are there?  So there is no per scene limit and you can see much more than 8 lights in the vast majority of cases.
Always learn from history, to be sure you make the same mistakes again...
